We are looking to hire a Air Freight Export Manager the primary function of the role is to implement a strategy for Export business development and operations in line with

overall company strategy and policies for the Airfreight Business Field.

To develop, and maintain profitable operations and to recruit, manage, motivate, and lead the Export Airfreight team as well as sales contribution from a

base of existing customers whilst seeking new business opportunities.

The Export Manager will be the leading Export Airfreight position in the location and will have direct reporting responsibilities to the CHoAF. Duties and

responsibilities are carried out in line with Corporate Airfreight policies and in close partnership with corporate resources and other business fields,

functional units & KPI’s. External systems and working procedures if required.

Responsibilities

BUSINESS & PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

• Acquire / support the acquisition of new export business and support the account management

• Promote customer relations and develop the existing client base

• Direct / support the export business development process (tender analysis, solution design, costing, pricing and service offering)

• Localize the global export Airfreight products to meet local market expectations and requirements

• Monitor market trends and competitor activity in order to identify new business opportunities (acquisition candidates, new services, business partners,

etc.)

CARRIER MANAGEMENT

• Set/manage carrier’s strategy, including managing local carrier’s contacts, rates negotiations, and bilateral process in alignment to the framework of the

global preferred carrier program.

• Secures the continuity of regional or national carrier relationships

OPERATIONS EXCELLENCE

• Ensure efficient export Airfreight operations and continuously optimises the operations and increases productivity by implementing standard processes in

line with corporate guidelines and targets (such as Data Quality)

• Work closely with IT & customers’ solution desk for monitoring & achieving required quality targets and coordinate for nominating customers to IT solution

that PA can provide

• Co-operate in the development and implementation of export business operation and reporting Handle pharm export shipments

• Monitor & supervise operations to ensure described process is fully adhered-to and that the highest standards of customer care are achieved at all times

and to maximize profitability on existing business

CONTROL OF FINANCIAL RESULT

• Optimize profitability and close the job in a timely manner reporting any loss with justifications to CHoAF

• Oversee the timely processing of invoices in line with the internal Finance Controlling regulations. Ensure strict adherence to the Credit Control

guidelines

HUMAN RESOURCES

• Select, recruit and continuously reviews the performance of export Airfreight team

• Promotes the development of talent and initiates business field specific training & development to ensure continuous improvement of staff skills levels

• Provide strong operational knowledge and support to the operators and sales staff

SALES

• Work closely with sales team to develop existing business and facilitate the generation of new business for budget achievement

• Provide product related information when required, support sales team with sales leads

QSHE

• Ensure all QSHE policies & guidelines are implemented

• Ensure all business processes to be followed as per PA system / guidelines, and Wworking Iinstruction s

company, as such you will be required to perform any reasonable duties or tasks of which the Management requests.

• Understands and ensures adherence to Panalpina Quality Policies, Standards and Guidelines (according to ISO 9’001, ISO 14’001 and ISO 18’001 certification)

and ensures compliance to processes and procedures set in Panalpina IMS.

• Ensures strict adherence to Panalpina Code of Conduct.

• Updates all special data fields in FOS as per client reporting requirements.

• Liaise with sub-contractors providing services to Air export operations such as packing, hazardous material handling …etc.

• Coordinates with ground handling agent for freight terminal dock-booking where applicable.

• Accurate & timely job costing and file hand-over to invoicing officer, ensuring shipment costs are updated correctly under “Job costing” in FOS.

• Liaise with Invoicing officer for any CASS, supplier invoices, job costing discrepancies or AWB stock maintenance.

• Updates shipment milestones into the appropriate systems, e.g. Pantrace, Intra or ComBas.

• Immediate notification to direct department head in case of any discrepancies.

• Timely and accurate update of operational discrepancies in IHT.

• Any other Tasks assigned by CHoAF
