We are looking to hire a Operations Supervisor - Reefer to Ensure proper execution of Ocean freight export \ import operations in an efficient and effective manner as per SOP and Panalpina guidelines.


Operational Delivery & Customer Service

• Active engagement in ensuring retention of BU accounts

• Opens job file with correct and accurate data / department code through FOS.

• Takes own responsibility for customer facing & development out of the product Perishables

Business Development

• Promotes customer relation and develop existing client base

• Continuously strive for high productivity, competitive efficiency and best quality

Carrier Management:

• Effective execution of carriers’ strategy in coordination with Head of Perishable in alignment with PA Carriers’ Strategy and global preferred carriers, including managing local carriers’ contacts, rates and negotiations.

• Define market-conform spot rates for local business opportunities.

• Proactively manage allocation planning in line with carrier policy.

• Manage the bookings with the carriers & liaise with transport desk to arrange pick-up of shipments.

Supplier Management

• Coordinates customs clearance with Customs Clearance suppliers.

• Ensures correctness of shipping documents before handing over for customs declaration.

• Apply & follow up for any special certification such as (certificate of origin, BITEC certificate, Insurance …etc)

• Ensure subcontractor invoice are checked, approved & forwarded to Finance for booking.


• Responsible for managing the payable process to the carriers and other suppliers and subcontractors includes but not limited to obtain suppliers’ invoices and ensure proper and timely update

• Actively monitor the Perishable P&L by managing vendor cost and by ensuring profitability in the day-to-day operations

• Drive actions to maximize profit on file level and to eliminate loss-making files

• Ensure proper and timely billing process through the team and to provides complete billing details, costing to Billing Support within agreed KPIs/SOPs


• Graduate from recognized university/college.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant ocean freight operational experience and Perishables industry


• Knowledge and experience in freight forwarding and logistics mainly in Perishables \ Reefer operations.

• Good network with different carriers, vendors and ports.

• Knowledge with different regulations and procedures for different product and requirements of different destinations.

• Knowledge about markets and competitors

• Overall understanding of business processes and interdependencies.

• Ready to take personal accountability for achieving individual and shared goals

• Capable to make informed judgments and to generate practical, timely solutions

• Has a good ability to prioritize, plan, delegate, assign & control.

• Has a good ability to work under pressure and deal with tight deadlines with high energy and resilience.


• Fluency in written and spoken English (knowledge of local language is an advantage).

• Other languages is a plus.

• Understands and ensures adherence to Panalpina Quality Policies, Standards and Guidelines (according to ISO 9’001, ISO 14’001 and ISO 18’001 certification) and ensures compliance to processes and procedures set in Panalpina IMS.
