We are looking to hire a Technical Lead Main Bulks to approve of correct / suitable Transport Equipment to be used for the transport of the Modules including Hydraulic Axles for ODC’s and Low beds for all OOG Cargoes


* Approval of correct / suitable Transport Equipment to be used for the transport of the Modules including Hydraulic Axles for ODC’s and Low beds for all OOG Cargoes

* Finalization of the type / configuration of the Hydraulic Axles (conventional modulars and SPT/SPMTs) to be used for each transport

* Provide complete Transportation Engineering including support:

* Preparation of Transport drawings of the Modules clearly showing:

* Overall dimensions of the total combination – overall length, overall width and overall height.

* Weight of the total combination including Hydraulic Axles

* Payload capacity of the Axles

* Actual Load per axle

* Capacity of each Tyre

* Actual Load on each Tyre

* Ground Pressure

* Angle of stability

* Any Projections coming out of the Hydraulic Axles and dimensions, thereof, both in transverse as well as Longitudinal direction.

* Perform Transport Feasibility Analysis including

* Type of Hydraulic suspension to be used for every transport – 3 Point or 4 Point.

* Hydraulic suspension grouping drawing

* Payload capacity of each group

* Actual Load on each Hydraulic Group

* Trailer stability analysis

* Overload Analysis in case of COG shifting +/- 500mm in longitudinal direction

* Overload Analysis in case of COG shifting +/- 500mm in transverse direction

* Perform Structural Feasibility Analysis including:

* Bending Moment check of the Trailer Chassis

* Shearing Force check of the Trailer chassis

* Deflection calculations of the Trailer chassis

* Lashing analysis including:

* Calculation of Dynamic Forces considering

* Force due to Slope

* Force due to Acceleration / de-acceleration

* Force due to Wind

* Centrifugal Forces

* Cumulative combination of Longitudinal Forces

* Cumulative combination of Transverse Forces

* SWL of Lashing slings / chains / D Shackles etc. to be provided

* Angle of Lashings

* Effective SWL of the Lashings considering the angle

* No. of Lashings proposed in Transverse direction

* No. of Lashings proposed in Longitudinal direction

* Lashing drawing clearly showing the proposed locations of the lashings.

* Tractive Power calculation of the Puller (Prime Mover):

* Tractive Force required considering Friction due to inertia and Friction due to Gradient

* Tractive Force available (based on HP of the Puller

* For Lifting of the Modules during loading / discharge from the Ship

* Lifting drawing clearly showing:

* Location of the Crane(s) at the time of Lift vis-à-vis Hydraulic Axles (loaded with Modules) and the Vessel including the Plan view.

* Distance from the Centre of the Crane to the Centre of the Axle / Module

* Boom length for this Lift

* Boom Angle for this Lift

* Vessel ballast proposed for the Lift

* Actual Load capacity of the Crane for the above given radius, boom length and boom angle

* Percentage of capacity at which the Crane(s) is / are operating

* Safety margin for the Lift

* The above will be done as per DNV criteria for Onshore / Offshore Lifts (DNVGL-ST-N001 & DNVGL-ST-N002).

* Rigging study:

* Drawing showing the Rigging arrangement clearly showing the angles and lengths of Slings

* Actual Load calculation on each slings (considering the COG location and distance of the Lift Lugs from the COG).

* Actual Load calculations on each D Shackle

* Capacity of the Slings proposed along with their details and Test certificates

* Capacity of the Shackles proposed along with their details and Test certificates

* Barging of the Modules

* Stowage drawing of the Module clearly showing Location of the Modules on the Barge.

* Lashing / Sea fastening design of the Modules on the Barge.

* Preparing detailed Bill of Material (BOM) for lashing / sea fastening.

* Structural analysis of the Barge (MOSES).

* Intact stability of the Barge.

* Damaged stability of the Barge.

* Load distribution analysis of the Module on the Barge to suit the deck capacity of the Barge.

* The above will be done as per DNV criteria for Marine Transport (DNVGL-ST-N001 & DNVGL-ST-N002)


* Preferably engineering degree and qualification in Forwarding

* Working experience (minimum 5 years) in Transport Engineering / Marine engineering related fields

* Industry experience (minimum 3 years)

* Preferably international working experience

* Preferably Iraq Experience


* Good strategic and planning skills, ability to translate strategy to operational plan and execute

* Good communication skills (open communication style)

* AutoCAD / or similar expertise

* Ability to integrate and coordinate efforts/resources across functions and boundaries


* Fluent in English

* Fluent in Arabic preferable
