We are looking to hire a Country Air Freight Pricing & Procurement Responsible (f/m/d) Germany for our office in Frankfurt/Moerfelden to the next possible start date.

Responsibilities

In this position, you tactically negotiate Air Freight rates for our German organization and see yourself as an internal service provider for our branches. The following tasks describe your job in detail:

• Execute the Air Freight pricing and development strategy

• Provide pricing to Tender Management in the needed quality and within the given timelines

• Guide local sales and product in pricing related activities and support with pricing related market information

• Define trade lane related strategies together with Marketing & Sales in compliance with country targets and market trends

• Direct sales support in client visits

• Analyze various data directories and key figures (cargo flows/cargo mix/consolidation benefit/GP)

• Coordinate data gathering, develop objectives and action plans with the Regional Trade Lane Managers

• Manage Air Freight data & rate structure (ITP, MSR, NAR, Surcharges, volume/tonnage, trend analyzes etc.)

• Handle and offer collect requests from foreign Panalpina units or agents

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Economics/Logistics or apprenticeship in freight forwarding with experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in a global forwarding/logistics company

• Operational Air Freight experience either on forwarder or on airline perspective and proven Air Freight procurement experience

• Deep knowledge of price mechanisms and forwarding cost calculations and overall understanding of business processes

• Very good sales and negotiation skills as well as project management skills

• Ability to engage on various levels and develop relationships with internal/external customers

• Good knowledge of MS Office (primarily MS Excel), knowledge of transport management systems is mandatory

• Fluent English and German skills (written and spoken) as well as the willingness to travel
