We are looking to hire a: ANGOLA – Country Accounting Assistant – Luanda


* Ensures reporting and accounting in accordance with the Reporting and Accounting Manual and the IMS

* Supports the country head of finance in preparation of the quarterly reporting package and tax reporting

* Supports and ensures the activities of Shared Services Center

* General Ledger & Reporting

1. Prepares, approves and submits journal entries (excluding standard accrual)

2. Reviews and approves G/L account reconciliations

3. Conducts Internal compliance activities

4. Provides written responses to auditors’ requests and consolidate feedback of third parties

* Intercompany

1. Update of local transfer pricing

2. Works with operations to improve intercompany process (hit rate)

* Tax (VAT, withholding tax)

1. Reviews and sign-off tax & statutory returns and hands over to authorities and, if necessary assists resolve inquiries

2. Submits periodical declaration on payment & remittances (prints or enters into local tax tool)

3. Supports local tax audits

4. Maintains local tax documentation

5. Supports the Country Head of Finance in preparing the quarterly tax reporting and tax calculation

* Accounts Payable

1. As a PTP single point of contact assisting the Shared Services Center in

1. resolves invoices exceptions processing issues

2. resolves booking and reconciliation issues

3. handles special claims from (sensitive) vendors

2. Maintains list of vendors and timing relevant for reconciliation

3. Approves non shipping invoice or support routing them to the department they belong to

4. Reviews and advises reports on monthly recurring payments, urgent payments and direct debits

5. Handles electronic uploads of vendor invoices (electronic invoices)

6. Supports master data set up

7. Reviews, advices and authorizes payment proposal as well as submits and confirms payment request to bank

8. Signs and sends cheques if applicable

9. Performs cash on delivery

10. Requests urgent payments

* Fixed Asset Accounting

1. Works with operations to requests new/ change asset master data

2. Manages fixed assets tag and numbers

3. Reconciles fixed assets/ organizes local fixed assets reconciliation and addresses differences accordingly

4. Reviews and approves of fixed assets reports

5. Reviews and approves fix asset disposals

6. Provides information for month-end accruals

* Treasury Cash Management

1. Processes swaps, active/ passive funding requests for currencies not included in cash pooling

2. Manages lockbox and lodges receipt at bank

3. Approves daily cash forecasting

4. Approves bank reconciliation and resolve disputes and issues

5. Manages petty cash

6. In agreement with CHoF apply with PAC for bank and corporate guarantees

* FX position management

1. Produces Global FX position and FX P&L reports and calculates Global FX position hedging requirements

2. Monitors daily FX position and hedges accordingly

3. Executes foreign exchange transactions with head office


* Education background in business administration or similar qualification

* Professional experience in accounting/ financial processes

* Additional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA, etc.)

* Additional Accounting Qualification with focus on local GAAP

* Tax experience
