We are looking to hire an Ocean Imports Co-ordinator acting as an interface with Customers, Sales, Subcontractors and Panalpina offices and Agents, ensuring within immediate team, the delivery of operational excellence, high productivity and customer satisfaction.

Key Tasks

* Coordinate and oversee import shipments on a daily basis

* Co-ordinate with overseas origin station in order to arrange shipment

* Communicate with client at all stages

* Arrange Import customs clearance declarations, with brokerage team

* Issue transport instruction to intermodal, monitor timely delivery

* Pass on files to Finance team for invoicing

* Advise Team Supervisor of all claims or potential claims and issue preliminary claim letter(s) to involved carriers

* Monitor vendor compliance with service standards and requirements as per contract terms

* Report all pertinent information to Team Supervisor on customer/vendor problems, i.e. unusual problems and interoffice or company situations that may be of interest

* Ensure that e-file contains all necessary documents and that necessary retention / return of originals is completed in accordance with Import Supervisors instruction

* Update Track and Trace application with milestones as instructed by Supervisor

* Other duties as requested

Qualifications & Knowledge

* Functional experience in Air and Ocean Exports preferable but not necessary

* Strong administration skills

* Knowledge of Panalpina products and services
