We are looking to hire a Global Network Engineer (f/m/x) IT Operations in Nuremberg at the earliest possible start date.

Responsibilities

As a member of our global IT team, you manage and support new network infrastructure and life cycle projects of international Panalpina locations. The following tasks describe your job in detail:

• Coordinate with local IT on LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi projects to ensure they are successfully completed on time and within scope

• Design network infrastructure for new sites and site extensions

• Install and configure network devices remotely (Switches, Routers, Wireless LAN)

• Ensure proper documentation and bring systems into operation

• Coordinate activities with external service providers for managed services

• Maintain detailed network diagrams and inventory

• Provide support for network services for LAN (L2/L3 Switches), WAN (MPLS, VPN, BGP,EIGRP, PBR) and W-LAN

• Open, follow-up and escalate of tickets with external service providers; process tickets created on the internal ticket system

Qualifications

• University degree in computer science or information technology or IT apprenticeship with respective further education

• At least 4 years professional experience, ideally in international network projects

• Expert knowledge of network technologies (routers, switches, Wi-Fi) and experience in project management

• Good understanding of network operation, network monitoring tools and best practices

• Good knowledge of MPLS/VPN networks and enterprise routing protocol (BGP, EIGRP)

• CCNA / CCNP networking certifications are desirable

• Team player with analytical and solution-oriented thinking

• Fluent in English and German (spoken and written) as well as willingness to travel about 10% internationally
