We are looking to hire a [[Business Unit Head of Ocean Freight]]

Responsibilities

Ensure ocean freight operational execution, track implementation and monitor adherence of the ocean team to the Panalpina Global & Area standard processes and guidelines in order to meet or exceed KPIs and ensure 100% regulatory compliance at BU level

Qualifications

• People management

• Extensive knowledge of the customs procedures of Import and Export in the maritime modal, as well as some related areas such as air modal, customs clearance, road transport, commercial, billing...)

• Knowledge of Panalpina's strategy and products

• Knowledge of the main customs regimes and practices of foreign trade

Skills

• Team management

• Establish flow of operations in specific cases, ensuring profitability for Panalpina.

• Monthly validation of team point control and overtime

Languages

• English fluent

Active team leadership

• Provide feedback on procedures and give guidance to efficiently analyze and qualify potential improvement initiatives,

• Monitor adherence to implemented standards procedures

• Identify process improvements and drive the implementation

• Drive continuous improvement of BU Ocean Operations

• Evaluate and monitor operational risks, ensure contingency planning and implement corrective actions

• Support new accounts implementation with SOPs , EDI interfaces and Ocean Freight applications

• Monitor and ensure high level of data quality within the product to internal and end users

• Evaluate and Monitor team performance like productivity, service level... (PEAR)

• Identify potential high profiles within the team for development

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Economics/Logistics or similar

Minimum 3 years on the position
