Purpose of the position

• Ensure all accepted RFQs (Request for Quotation) on a District level are responded to professionally and timely

• Provide pricing support on a District level to both internal and external customers

• Lead role in District pricing of all Panalpina products

Key Tasks

• Assist local Business Units (BU) with standardized pricing and quotations for all out of scope Country/ AME region TM bids and pricing requests from local / overseas customers.

• Follow standardized quotation format to ensure consistency and professionalism when submitted to a customer.

• Comply with Corporate TM processes incorporating these guidelines on a District level

• Interface with other functional groups such as IT, Legal, Security, Product, Key Account Management, Industry Verticals, as well as with customers in creating/delivering customer driven services and solutions.

• Maintain a win/loss log for all quotes and tenders by District on Sharepoint.

• Ensure post bid analysis to be performed by bid owners for all bids, both successful and

unsuccessful Tenders. Ensure received tender feedback is shared with relevant functions in the organization.

• Analyze tender results to determine trends which could increase the win ratio for Panalpina (PA).

• Participate in customer meetings for large RFQ tenders as required.

• Create and maintain a pricing database for all Panalpina products for use as a benchmarking tool for bids.

• Provide training to BU sales support/business owners on required TM processes.

• Functional & operational know-how on global forwarding

• Deep understanding of PA (strategy and products)

• Deep market knowledge (customers, air & ocean freight rates/services)

• Basic knowledge in finance & good business practice

• Supply Chain & Logistics knowledge would be seen as an asset

• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and listening)

• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze RFI and RFQ documents in a timely manner

Educational background / Work experience

• Higher educational level (degree business administration, economics, logistics)

• Relevant working experience (minimum 3 years)

• Industry experience (minimum 3 years)

Language skills

• English and local language

Computer Literacy

• Profound knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (xls, doc, ppt and others)

• Knowledge of SAP and CRM is of advantage
