Purpose of the position

The Air Freight Procurement & Product Manager is in charge to procure sufficient cargo capacity for the Air Export operations at market competitive rate levels. To build-up and maintain carrier relationships and to steer the carrier performance management. Execute Corporate & Regional matters related to Air Freight Procurement/Product Standard & Governance.

Key Tasks

* Procurement Strategy & Allocation Management

* Responsible for purchasing cargo capacity for Air Freight.

* Rate negotiations with all carriers (base: Panalpina Global Air Freight Sourcing – PGAFS)

* In charge for buying rates (market, contract, promo) completeness and maintenance (WCN)

* Carrier Relationship Management

* Carrier Performance Management according to Corporate and local guidelines

* Coordination of airline allocations and related administration.

* Execute the global carrier and procurement policy with alignment of Corporate Strategy.

* Support the Local Capacity Management Team in the management and optimization of capacity in the daily business.

* Support the Country Air Freight Pricing/Trade Lane Manager with the definition, implementation and maintenance of the Country Minimum Selling Rates (MSR).

* Support the Country Tender Management Team with proposed selling rates and any other rate related questions to allow efficient bidding for new business

* Work on improved guidelines and procedures for the country procurement and capacity management in accordance with the Airfreight Standards and Governance and Country Head of Air Freight.

* Support Corporate & Regional Air Freight Procurement on any local issues with Carriers.

* Provide inputs to Regional Air Freight Procurement on local buying rates, consolidation opportunities and capacity constraints.

* Support the Country Subcontractor Management in terms of assessment, approval, procurement and performance management for Air Freight Subcontractor.

* Establish and support on-going spot quote procedures and make sound decision for spot rates

* Study the air carrier market and communicate any industry changes on time to keep the Air Freight community abreast of the changes.

* Any other job-related tasks as assigned by the superior.

Educational background / Work experience

* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Economics/Logistics or freight forwarding apprenticeship

* 5-10 years of work experience (minimum)

* 5-10 years of overall industry experience (minimum)

* International working experience preferred

Language Skills

* Fluent in English (written and spoken)

* Other languages (written and spoken) preferred

Computer Literacy

Good knowledge of:

* Microsoft® Office Software (Excel®, Word, PowerPoint® and others)

* SAP® (ERP, TM)
