We are looking to hire a Warehouse Shipping Desk Clerk to support/assist Shipping Supervisor while performing tasks on the shipping desk.

Responsibilities

* Take directions from shipping supervisor for the daily tasks

* Perform shipping functions while working on the shipping desk including coordinating with the outbound carriers’ drivers

* Allocate drivers to the available dock doors and coordinate with the loaders to load the shipment

* Organize shipping documents according to the appointments of the customers

* Identify the shipments on the floor

* Cooperate with processing department to prepare the packing slips/BOLs for the outbound shipments

* Close orders in the system once the shipment is picked up

* Liaison with various carriers to make sure that the shipments are picked up in timely manner

* Respond to the customers and carriers’ e-mails

* Ensure accurate shipment loading.

* Call the carriers if required to arrange the pickups

* Assist in closing E-com orders in system

* Send an update to shipping supervisor/operations manager at the end of the shift

* File/organize the shipping documents at the end of the shift

* Other duties as required

* Physical Requirements: standing, walking, sitting, bending, moving cartons, counting cartons & pallets, using pump tuck to move pallets (if required)

Qualifications

* Minimum a High School Diploma

* Minimum 2 years warehouse experience preferably in shipping department (3 PL experience: an asset)

* Solid communication skills both written and oral

* Strong Organize

* Strong knowledge of shipping documents and procedures

* Supports organizational commitment to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 certification.

* Perform assigned tasks to support Panalpina meets its objectives and targets regarding quality, health, safety and environment as documented in IMS and follow all requirements as set out in the QHSE policy.

Languages

* Fluent in English both written and oral

Specifics for Job / Environment

* MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Warehouse Management Software (WMS)

* Safety shoes and safety vest to be used during the work hours

* Physically identify the shipments and coordinate with the loading drivers

* Physically able to lift, push & carry up to 44 lbs
