We are looking to hire a Warehouse Supervisor to be responsible for daily warehouse operations for their particular customer group. The primary objectives are maintaining inventory accuracy, improving productivity and managing operating costs. This will be achieved through the use of consistent operational practices, procedures, work planning, obtaining and coordinating the necessary equipment, personnel and supplies to execute daily activities. This will require Supervisor to coordinate with the Warehouse Operations Manager, the appropriate customer service representative and dispatch. Warehouse Supervisor is generally responsible for ensuring daily operations are completed accurately, effectively, efficiently and on time.

Responsibilities

* Ensure Inventory accuracy is maintained to a minimum 98.5% accuracy rate. This includes completing mandatory location moves sheets for all inventory movements.

* Prepare for physical inventories including creating and maintaining activity plans, as well as procuring work force and equipment.

* Responsible for supervising warehouse operators and general laborers

* Train staff on warehouse procedures, cargo handling, loading/unloading and packing, and Health & Safety

* Plan, coordinate and supervise daily value added services including reworks, pick and pack fulfillment.

* Manage and supervise physical inventories of customers

* Complete and provide daily location move sheets to the Warehouse Operations Manager.

* Ensure all customer services are completed on-time and with maximum efficiency while meeting established warehouse service levels.

* Develop and maintain in consultation with the CSR and warehouse management, consistent operational practices, procedures and service levels that specifically suit industry groups.

* Ensure receiving reports are completed and passed to the Warehouse Operations Manager by the following morning.

* All freight is put away based on space and picking optimization.

* Completion of all inventory paperwork including, receiving reports, locations moves, and pick lists.

* Complete orders on a timely basis as required to meet warehouse service levels.

* Ensuring all paperwork is completed and maintained by your operational staff.

* Ensure all exceptions are noted and communicated to the customer service reps and any special handling requirements are executed.

* Work with shared service supervisors in planning for daily operations.

* Assist Warehouse Operations Manager in establishing silo budgets, planning staff levels and resources requirements.

* Prompt communication with CSR’s with answers to customer service issues, inventory and exception issues.

* Completion of weekly activity reports to the Warehouse Operations Manager

* Submission to Warehouse Operations Manager of monthly budget and resource planning reports.

* Responsible for maintaining daily warehouse cleanliness over work area.

* Any other tasks or responsibilities that are designated by the Warehouse Operations Manager.

* Ensure operations are conducted in compliance with Panalpina’s Health and Safety policy

* Ensure area staff follows health and safety rules.

* Report accidents to department Manager, Health & Safety Advisor & Human Resources

Qualifications

* College diploma or equivalent

* Minimum 1-2 years warehousing & supervisory experience

* Able to lift up to 50 lbs

Languages

Specifics for Job / Environment

* Must have proven JDA system experience

* Proficient with MS Office and Internet

* Understanding of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)

* Expertise in the area of Warehousing and Distribution (in some areas specific to Clients’ commodity)

* Understanding of PA strategy and products

* Overall understanding of business processes and interdependencies

* Knowledge in freight forwarding and logistics
